Shadow Defender-v1.1.0.265 ENG/RUS
09.07.2008, 17:31
Shadow Defender
Shadow Defender
What is Shadow Defender?
ShadowDefender.com
solutions provide a new way to solve system security, data protection
and privacy protection problems. It uses a method called Shadow Mode to
protect PCs from attacking. By placing PCs in Shadow Mode with Shadow
Defender, the system is going to be protected no matter what happens.
Shadow Mode tracks all the change and redirects them to an unused
location on the disk. These system changes can be permanently saved to
disk, or completely discarded. Shadow Mode is the most efficient and
intelligent way to protect PCs.
Shadow Defender provides easy to
use desktop security and privacy protection for Windows operating
systems. It is an excellent way to prevent unwanted or malicious
changes from being made to a PC. With Shadow Defender you can run
system in a virtual environment, called Shadow Mode. and all the
attacks will happen in the virtual environment, not the real
environment. If attacks happened, all you need to do is to reboot your
system. And meanwhile you can save the selected files and folders to
the real environment.
How Does Shadow Defender Work?
Shadow
Defender's protection concept is very easy to grasp. For the software
to do its job properly you have to place the disks installed on your
computer into Shadow Mode. By doing this, the application will take a
snapshot of the disk and run every file in virtual mode. You will have
the same access to the files on the disk but any write action will be
virtual. This means that no matter how many worms and spyware you
infect your computer with, they will not affect the real system at all
because of the virtualization. Once you snap out of this "parallel
dimension" every change to the system and the files on the disk will be
discarded.
The conclusion in this sense is that the computer
will not be affected by any change and no malicious files will be
written to the PC. The greatest thing is that you can choose what can
actually get stuck on the disk while in Shadow Mode. More than this,
you can decide in advance what files and folders should not benefit
from Shadow Mode protection.
Shadow Mode
Basing
on the original windows, Shadow Defender clone an independent system
platform that we call them "shadow mode". With the same configuration
and function to the original windows, people could do anything as he
were in normal mode. The substantial difference between the normal mode
and the shadow mode is: everything in the shadow mode, which includes
the file you downloaded, the document you created or the settings that
you have changed will disappear at all when you exit the shadow
mode. That is the reason why shadow mode can absolutely leave no trace
in the computer.
Enter Shadow Mode
Open "Shadow
Defender" interface under normal mode, switch to the "Mode
Settings"page, select the volume which will enter Shadow Mode, then
click "Enter Shadow Mode".
there are 2 options you can select:
Exit Shadow Mode when shutdown Continue Shadow Mode after reboot Select one option above and click "OK", then the volumes you selected will be in Shadow Mode.
NOTE:
If
you select 'Exit Shadow Mode when shutdown' the volume will exit Shadow
Mode automatically when OS reboot or shutdown. If you select 'Continue
Shadow Mode after reboot' the volume will exit Shadow Mode
automatically when OS reboot or shutdown. BUT when you log into windows
next time, the volume will enter Shadow Mode automatically.
Exit Shadow Mode
Open
"Shadow Defender" interface under normal mode, switch to the "Volume
Settings"page, select the volume which will exit Shadow Mode, then
click "Exit Shadow Mode".
there are 2 options you can select:
Discard all changes except Exclusion List Commit all changes Select one option above and click "OK", then the volumes you selected will be out of Shadow Mode.
NOTE:
If you select 'Discard all changes except Exclusion List' all the
changes in the volume will be discarded. If you select 'Commit all
changes' all the changes will be kept in the volume.
NOTE: Because some volumes are being used by system, so these volumes cannot exit Shadow Mode without a reboot or shutdown.
NOTE:
If you select 'Force dismount volume', Shadow Defender will try to
close all the files used by other applications before exit Shadow Mode.

feature performs just like an exclusion file, but the action must be
taken manually. There are 2 ways to commit files and folders to
original volume permanently:
